Hey guys!!!

I just want to tell you a little about why I chose telecommunications as my major. I love talking and I love getting to know and connect with people so for me being able to tell someones story is such a gift. It is crazy to think that you are able to show people who someone is or what they do in such a positive light. I specifically chose entertainment news because I like talking about the good rather than the bad. UF has one of the top telecommunications programs in the U.S. so it is such a privileged to be going through this program. Life as a journalist at UF is incredible because of all the opportunities that are available to us. You have the chance to work with some of the most prestigious professionals in the industry and learn what it takes to get to the top. Erin Andrews is one of my favorite reporters and the fact that she went through the same program that I am going through is mind blowing to me. It shows that we have just as good a chance of making it big in this industry as the next person. It is also inspiring to see the amount of people that succeed and then are
able to come back and speak to students about how they started their careers. 
The CMIR contains content that students create and share with the world. It is a great tool for students as they are able to produce their own work and learn from others.

Review of Don't Make Me Think

I found Don’t Make Think to not only be interesting but extremely informative. Not only did the book help breakdown the idea of web usability but it did so in very simple and short manner. It was explanatory and easy to follow along with and opened up my mind to thinking a little differently about the internet and how I do things on the internet.  So what is usability? It is the idea that any normal person should be able to use a product without running into difficulties or becoming frustrated. It is the idea that something works well, is straight forward, and easy to use. This term applies to many different aspects of life including building a website. Throughout the book Steve Krug pinpoints ways in which you can make your website as user friendly as possible.  One of the biggest lessons I think I learned was the whole concept of “Don’t Make Me Think.” A major emphasis is that a website should be pretty self-explanatory.
